The Association
Who we are
Friends of Marcos and people who have come to know him through his story.
The Friends of Marcos Pou Association is a private association of the faithful with canonical legal personality, established in 2022 in the Archdiocese of Barcelona.
It arises from a realisation: through the life of Marcos, many of his friends and companions, as well as people who never had the chance to know him, have drawn closer to Christ, both yesterday and today. His story is a living example that, by faithfully following Jesus and the Church, life becomes more true, more full and more beautiful.
For this reason, we want to make known to everyone—believers and non-believers alike—the message of the Gospel through the witness of his life of faith.
What we do
- We publish his writings and books about him, in several languages.
- We screen the documentary «El sí de Marcos» in parishes, schools, seminaries and groups.
- We collect testimonies from those who knew him and from those who have come to know him since.
- We share his testimony at meetings with parishes, schools and groups that invite us to tell them who Marcos was.
- We organise anniversary Masses and prayer meetings.
Our aims
According to its statutes, approved by the Archbishop of Barcelona on 30 May 2022, the Association sets out to:
- Make known the message of the Gospel through the witness of Marcos Pou Gallo, as a testimony of a life of faith.
- Foster culture—through web publishing, publishing houses or other media that make known writings, images and videos of or about Marcos—to encourage the search for what is true, beautiful and good in people’s lives.
- Promote works of charity and piety.
- Encourage friendship and fellowship among the members of the Association and with society, through meetings and activities that bear witness to Marcos’s example of life.
- Promote the Christian formation of its members, so that they may become aware of the grace received in baptism.
